| One of the ideas Matt Offield and I came up with was a series of statues (based on lifecasting/bodycasting). I thought it would be hilarious to invite people to my one bedroom apartment and have the living room lined with eight statues (two columns, 4 statues each) all of me.
I could just imagine them seeing that, thinking "oh, my god -- how egotistical". I'd act like I just noticed their reaction, look ashamed and say "oh, yeah. um...I molt." (of course, the backs of the statues would have to look like I burst out of them leaving my "skin" mostly intact)
It was a funny idea -- but then we took it even further. As a branding activity, it'd be cool to make statues like that -- of every day activities -- and at certain times take them (and leave them) in public areas...parks, train stations, etc.
I thought of doing a Tarot series (the tower, the magician, the hanged man) all with me acting out a pose similar to the theme of the particular card, but Matt thought it would be better to make it every day activities ("Jeffrey taking a shower", "Jeffrey eating ramen", "Jeffrey on the computer")
I like the idea of people going by them saying "what the heck is this?" and thinking it's some sort of marketing promotion...
Yes, it's a lot of work for very little payback...but it'd be FUNNY! |
